I want to buy a condo, but I want to wait til the market hits bottom so I can try to get the best deal. When will the market hit bottom in the South Florida area?
Actually the exact same type of question could have been sincerely asked a couple of years ago except as "When will the housing market peak in south Florida? I want to sell at the top and get the best deal."
We can’t know that answer. The important thing is not to try and time the market. Scam artist always tell you that you can pay them money and they will get you in and out at just the right time. The truth is that the exact time of peak and bottom is pure luck.
If the prices are so high they don’t make sense then sell. If the prices are so low they don’t make sense then buy. Look around and pay a lot of attention to location. Don’t rush, but don’t pass up a great opportunity to buy.
